Each year Better Block SGF (Springfield, Missouri) hosts a community design competition called We Create. The competition invites community members to come together to explore creative solutions to the many challenges facing the city. Better Block wanted the look to be consistent with their overall brand (black & yellow with simple shapes), creating a sub-brand for We Create that could be used for all future design competitions.
The logo was inspired by photography from one of their Better Block events. The shadows cast from their installation are mimicked in the logo design, providing consistency when the two are used together.
Better Block installations are typically modular to allow for easy movement. The logo reflects that with its versatility and modular design in its different variations.
