Hammons Products Company is the largest producer of black walnuts in North America, shelling over 25 millions pounds of black walnuts annually. They approached us to redesign their packaging to align themselves as a specialty ingredient for bakers and chefs. We modernized the packaging and added in elements to pay homage to the tradition of the black walnut harvest. The challenge was created a package design that could be implemented across their whole line of products. In total we designed 8 variations to accommodate their different package weights and nut piece sizes. These projects were created with the team at Revel Advertising (Springfield, MO).
After the new packaging came out, a recipe booklet and other sales collateral were developed to promote black walnuts and get them in the hands of the new target market. These items needed to reflect the design of the packaging to keep the brand consistent through all channels. To do that we incorporated the diecut and black walnut imagery into the designs.
